-AAU Girls' Basketball Club-

The Varsity Coach at Howell High School, Lee Piepho, and the former Varsity Coach at Brighton High School, Mark Lingo, formed the Livingston Sting Organization in 1998. Our goal was to promote the game of basketball among young women in Livingston County, Michigan, and the surrounding areas. Paul Ash, current Brighton JV Coach, and Jason Piepho, current Brighton Varsity Girls Coach, were added to the Sting Board and are current officers with Mark and Lee. The Livingston Sting is committed to developing female athletes for play at the High School level and in college, at the Division I, II, III, and NAIA levels. To that end, we field 10 traveling teams from ages 10-18. Tounament scheldules for all ages are included so you can plan your schedule accordingly to attend games and watch our players.

As we enter our tenth year of existance, we are extremely proud of our players' accomplishments, their commitment, dedication and their love for the game of basketball. To date we have had 88 present and former players earn college scholarships that were part of our program. In 2006, the Sting program placed our 11U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U teams respectively, in the state finals. Our 2007 expectation is that all our teams will qualify this year.

We believe that all of our teams are better than last year, and the expectations are extremely high again this year. We hope that the girls have fun and improve their skills and we hope to see you at our tournaments soon.
